Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leroy Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg LaFleche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leroy Green has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Leroy Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Greg LaFleche!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaFleche lands a lovely overhand right.
LaFleche moves out of range as Green strikes.
LaFleche steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Green.
A slow jab from Green misses its intended target.
LaFleche throws a leg kick but Green sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Horrible takedown by Green or perhaps it was just good defense by LaFleche which made him look bad.
The fighters circling - Green throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
LaFleche is looking to slow Green down with leg kicks.
LaFleche throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Green throws a lazy right hand but LaFleche sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
LaFleche lands a head kick. Green smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Green throws a series of punches but LaFleche avoids them all with ease.

LaFleche shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Green's guard.

LaFleche thows a big elbow that misses.
LaFleche won't allow Green to sweep him here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as LaFleche accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Green is on top in guard.

LaFleche is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Green advances to half guard.

Green is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and LaFleche defends it well.
LaFleche flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

LaFleche is looking for a sweep. Green is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
LaFleche misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Green throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
LaFleche gets back to full guard.
LaFleche manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Green manages to get himself to full guard.
LaFleche tries to free his leg and advance position but Green is retaining full guard.

Green manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. LaFleche manages to get himself to full guard.

LaFleche is pressing down on Green's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Green drops back looking for a leg! LaFleche is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and LaFleche manages to kick Green off! Green jumps back into LaFleche's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Green stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. LaFleche swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Green drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Green jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Green throws a big right hand that misses.
LaFleche throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
LaFleche tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
LaFleche misses with an uppercut.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Green throws a hook but LaFleche avoids it easily.
LaFleche steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Green.
LaFleche thows a body shot but no joy.
LaFleche scores with a hook.
Green looks to land a left hand but LaFleche moved out of range nicely.
LaFleche looks to land a right hand but Green moved out of range.
Green throws the left hand but LaFleche avoids the punch easily.
Green fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
LaFleche just misses with a punch to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg LaFleche dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


LaFleche jabbing away but nothing is landing.
LaFleche uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

It looks like Greg LaFleche has been cut.
Green misses with a hook. LaFleche ducked under it nicely.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Green throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Green moves out of range as LaFleche strikes.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Green checks a leg kick.

LaFleche bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
LaFleche tries to score with a low kick but Green moves his leg out of the way.
LaFleche misses the shot to the body.
Green shoots and misses
letting LaFleche counter with a right hand.

LaFleche scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
LaFleche prevents Green from improving his position.
LaFleche really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Green. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
LaFleche lands with a punch from half guard.
LaFleche lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
LaFleche looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Green with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Green is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

LaFleche takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
LaFleche is looking to take a break and control but Green is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

LaFleche seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
LaFleche is tying to control. Green wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Green is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, LaFleche has managed to free his arm - good work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Green tries to clinch but LaFleche moves out of range.
Green throws a hook but LaFleche blocks it.
LaFleche keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Green.
Nice defenses there by LaFleche.
LaFleche avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

and LaFleche counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Green's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg LaFleche showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Green gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

LaFleche keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Green's head.

LaFleche distracts Green with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Green working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. LaFleche doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. LaFleche manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
LaFleche stands up over Green, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Greg LaFleche comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well LaFleche has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
