Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mariusz Nikiel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nikiel comes to the cage accompanied by Krystian Pudzianowski - Slowianski wiatr. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

It looks like Mariusz Nikiel has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thompson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

It looks like Benny Thompson has been cut.
Thompson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Nikiel swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nikiel lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Thompson drops Nikiel with a left and a right! Oh, Nikiel is hurt - Thompson dives into side control looking to finish!

Nikiel is rocked!
Thompson wants to stand but Nikiel has his arm trapped.
Thompson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Nikiel is looking for a sweep.
Thompson prevents Nikiel from escaping the position.

Thompson stands up.
Thompson moves out of range of the body kick from Nikiel.

Nikiel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nikiel misses with a kick to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Nikiel scores with a jab to the body.
Thompson digs a good body shot into Nikiel's ribs.
Nikiel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Thompson looks to score with a jab to the body but Nikiel is just out of range.
Nikiel misses with a two punch combination.

Nikiel cracks Thompson with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Nikiel has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Thompson to stand back up!

Thompson is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nikiel checks a leg kick nicely.
Thompson is still on wobbly legs! Can Nikiel finish him?
Nikiel misses with a head kick.
Nikiel connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Thompson covering up! Nikiel comes in with a big uppercut and Thompson goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Mariusz Nikiel opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
