Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Byrne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kisuke Urahara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, David Byrne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Kisuke Urahara!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urahara swats away the attempt to clinch by Byrne.
Urahara connects with a body shot.
Byrne throws a half hearted mid kick.
Byrne takes one on the button.
Byrne tries to clinch but Urahara moves out of range.
Byrne looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Byrne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Byrne tries to clinch there but Urahara circles away.
Byrne pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Urahara blocks the body kick.
Urahara misses with a low kick.
Urahara takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Urahara swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Byrne throws a lazy uppercut
and Urahara counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Byrne misses with a low kick as Urahara jumps back.
Urahara throws a combination. Byrne tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Byrne comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Urahara, right into the meat.
Urahara tries a low kick but Byrne avoids it.
David Byrne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some bone on bone action there as Urahara checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Urahara takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Byrne throws a right and a left that Urahara avoids nicely.
Urahara throws a head kick that misses.
Urahara lands a jab to Byrne's midsection.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Urahara has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Byrne moves out of range of the body kick.
Urahara has a takedown stuffed.
Urahara looks to score with a jab to the body but Byrne is just out of range.
Byrne walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Urahara dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Byrne misses with a low kick.

Byrne throws a low kick, looking for Urahara's leg but Urahara calmly moves out of range.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Urahara.
David Byrne is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Urahara drops Byrne with a left right combo! Urahara follows him down to the ground into side control.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Urahara is looking to take a break and control but Byrne is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A bit of a lull in the action here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Byrne keeping hold of Urahara's head, controlling as best he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kisuke Urahara dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Byrne throws a sloppy head kick and Urahara moves out of range easily.
Urahara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Byrne tries to avoid it but Urahara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Byrne to the ground. Byrne escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Urahara lands with a hook. Byrne tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Byrne throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Urahara wants to land a leg kick but Byrne is out of range.
Byrne lands with a straight right. Urahara didn't see that one coming.

Byrne darts in and clinches Urahara up against the ropes.

Urahara is looking to control Byrne's arms but Byrne gets an underhook and turns him. Now Urahara has his back to the ropes.

Byrne lands an elbow that stopped Urahara in his tracks for a moment.

Byrne takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Urahara shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Byrne as he jumps to the side.
David Byrne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kisuke Urahara.

Urahara moves into range and clinches up with Byrne.

Urahara is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Byrne is just riding it out for now. Urahara eventually gives up the hold.

Kisuke Urahara showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Urahara is trying to pull guard but Byrne turns him against the ropes and we stay in the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Byrne just misses with a elbow thrown towards Urahara's brow.

Urahara blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Byrne tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Urahara lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Urahara pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Byrne throws a hook but Urahara avoids it easily.
Byrne lands a jab to Urahara's midsection.
Urahara throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Byrne takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Urahara shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Byrne sprawls well. Byrne wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Urahara gets slowly back to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Byrne takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Kisuke Urahara seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Byrne tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Urahara manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
David Byrne has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Byrne fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Byrne throws a head kick but Urahara moves out of range.
Urahara throws a nice outside leg kick.

Urahara shoots in and bounces Byrne off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Urahara won't allow Byrne to sweep him here.
Urahara looking to sit in guard and control but Byrne gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Byrne is pushing down on Urahara's leg trying to pass to half guard. Urahara is fighting to maintain full guard but Byrne has managed to sneak the leg through.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Urahara is looking for a triangle but Byrne pushes his legs off easily.
Byrne sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Urahara's guard.
Kisuke Urahara is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Urahara is holding on to half guard well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Urahara is not content to let Byrne control the position.
Byrne wants to free his trapped foot but Urahara is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Byrne is working hard here to advance position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Byrne throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Kisuke Urahara.
I've got Urahara winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
