Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws a sloppy head kick and House moves out of range easily.
House looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Alves darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
It looks like Alves is going to stand back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
House has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alves is working away from the top position though.

Alves decides to return to a standing position.
Alves throws a body kick that misses.
Alves lets loose with a powerful body kick. House will feel that in the morning.
Alves throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alves punishes House's body with a nice straight punch.
House is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
House finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

House stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Alves to get to his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that Steve Alves will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Alves shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Alves was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if House can do anything to dispel that myth.
