Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Drew Harrell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Raul Garcia!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Garcia drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Harrell is looking for a sweep.
Garcia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harrell keeps working.
Harrell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Garcia controls the position.
Harrell tries to buck Garcia off but Garcia is having none of it.

Garcia takes advantage of some sloppy striking from Harrell to pass into mount.

Garcia goes for an armbar but Harrell turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Harrell.

Harrell is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Garcia wants to sweep but no luck.

Harrell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Garcia closes the distance and clinches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Garcia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Garcia closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Harrell to the mat! Harrell manages to get full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Raul Garcia wasn't active enough on the ground.
Harrell takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Drew Harrell has been cut.

Harrell shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Garcia sprawls well. Garcia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harrell gets slowly back to his feet.

Garcia looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Harrell is not content to let Garcia control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raul Garcia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Garcia clinches up with Harrell and pushes him back against the cage.

Garcia shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Harrell manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Garcia wants to control from the top but Harrell keeps moving.
Garcia looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Raul Garcia hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Garcia shoots in and gets a takedown into Harrell's guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Raul Garcia has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Garcia displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Harrell.

Garcia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Garcia is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Harrell!

Raul Garcia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Garcia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
