The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conwell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Monroe manages to avoid it.
Conwell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Monroe's guard.
Conwell is looking to work some ground and pound but Monroe has wrist control.
Conwell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Conwell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Conwell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
