Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Cunningham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Joe Armstrong!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armstrong connects with a body shot that sends Cunningham's belly button to the back.

Armstrong closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cunningham quickly recovers to half guard.
Armstrong tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Armstrong controlling the pace.
Cunningham trying to control from the bottom.
Armstrong keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Armstrong throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Armstrong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cunningham does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Billy Joe Armstrong wasn't active enough on the ground.
The fighters circling - Armstrong throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Armstrong is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


It looks like Daniel Cunningham has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Armstrong shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cunningham napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Cunningham is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Armstrong has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Cunningham is desperately trying to improve his position but Armstrong has a good base and remains in mount.

Armstrong throwing strikes here but Cunningham is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Armstrong trying to control but Cunningham is having none of it.
Cunningham tries to lock up and control but Armstrong gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cunningham is looking to improve his position but Armstrong isn't that keen on the idea.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cunningham is squirming around, avoiding Armstrong's attempts to control the action.
Armstrong looks winded!
Armstrong avoids the attempt from Cunningham to control.
Cunningham tries to control Armstrong's body but Armstrong pushes him off. Cunningham squirms to his side and now Armstrong has his back!
Armstrong throwing sloppy strikes.
Cunningham manages to reverse the position and now he's in Armstrong's guard. Nice work there by Cunningham.
Armstrong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cunningham. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Armstrong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cunningham can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cunningham is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Cunningham really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cunningham wants to stand but Armstrong is controlling his posture from full guard.

Armstrong pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cunningham fails to land the takedown.

Armstrong closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Armstrong lands in his opponent's guard.

Cunningham drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cunningham jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cunningham has gone for a leg lock! Armstrong slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cunningham's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Armstrong wanted to stand there but Cunningham had control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cunningham misses with a few strikes there.
Armstrong misses with a two punch combination.
Daniel Cunningham is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Armstrong moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cunningham has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Armstrong is proving hard to escape from.

Cunningham gets to his feet. Armstrong looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Armstrong pushes Cunningham up against the cage in a clinch.
Cunningham tries to pull guard but Armstrong forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Cunningham has Armstrong pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Armstrong manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Armstrong pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Armstrong drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Cunningham pulls Armstrong in close to prevent any damage.
Armstrong looking to sit in guard and control but Cunningham gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Armstrong will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Cunningham decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Armstrong closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Armstrong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cunningham keeps working.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Armstrong has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Armstrong shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Well Armstrong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
