Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Burbank Bulldog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lj Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bulldog's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, British Bulldog. Gibbs is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: LJ Gibbs. Burbank Bulldog could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Lj Gibbs's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Burbank Bulldog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lj Gibbs!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibbs shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Gibbs has taken the fight to the clinch.

Bulldog breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bulldog misses with a double jab.

Gibbs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bulldog sprawls well initially but Gibbs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gibbs is keen to just control but Bulldog is a slippery customer.

Gibbs is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bulldog is just riding it out for now. Gibbs eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bulldog is trying to stand up here but Gibbs is controlling him well.
Bulldog is looking to get back to is feet but Gibbs passes into side control.

Gibbs wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bulldog, who protects the arm well.

Gibbs is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bulldog is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Gibbs wants to take a breather but Bulldog manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Gibbs.

Gibbs drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bulldog dives on top into guard.

Gibbs wants to stand up but Bulldog is controlling him.

Bulldog avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bulldog throws a big elbow that misses.
Bulldog controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bulldog trying to control but Gibbs is working from the bottom.
Bulldog looking to sit in guard and control but Gibbs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Gibbs is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bulldog is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bulldog has escaped and now he's on top!

Gibbs wants to get back to his feet but Bulldog is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close round but Lj Gibbs will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Gibbs throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bulldog tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gibbs is in Bulldog's guard.

Gibbs looks for a takedown but Bulldog sprawls well.
Bulldog fails with an attempt to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gibbs.
Gibbs tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bulldog sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gibbs somewhat.
Burbank Bulldog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lj Gibbs.
Gibbs lands a jab-cross combination.

You can see the frustration on Bulldog's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gibbs tries to advance to mount but can't.

Gibbs thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Bulldog throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gibbs shoots in for a double leg but Bulldog sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bulldog tries to land a front kick but Gibbs steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Bulldog doesn't manage to clinch there - Gibbs circles away.
Gibbs shoots in but Bulldog avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Bulldog darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Bulldog is looking for a kimura here.

Bulldog is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bulldog tries to stand and escape but Gibbs actually recovers to full guard.
Bulldog prevents Gibbs from getting back to his feet.

Bulldog got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gibbs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bulldog has managed to get both his arms back between Gibbs's legs - danger averted.
Gibbs is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gibbs preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Gibbs is looking to stand up but Bulldog isn't so interested in that idea.
Bulldog wants to control from the top but Gibbs keeps moving.

Bulldog not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Bulldog in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bulldog postures up in Gibbs's guard and throws a big left but Gibbs blocks it.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Burbank Bulldog just wasn't active enough.
Bulldog throws a right and a left that Gibbs avoids nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gibbs gets tackled into the cage by Bulldog. Bulldog maintains the clinch.
Bulldog is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Bulldog is pressed up against the cage. Gibbs has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bulldog down to the mat. Bulldog avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Burbank Bulldog will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Gibbs misses with a takedown attempt - Bulldog sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Bulldog darts in looking for a takedown but Gibbs gets double underhooks and turns Bulldog into the cage.
Bulldog tries to land a knee to the head but Gibbs blocks with his arms.
Bulldog is looking to break free of the clinch but Gibbs has double underhooks.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gibbs.
Burbank Bulldog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lj Gibbs.
Bulldog throws a sloppy head kick and Gibbs moves out of range easily.
Nice sprawl there from Bulldog as Gibbs shoots in.

Gibbs gets caught flat footed, as Bulldog shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Gibbs takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bulldog stands and steps away. Gibbs gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Gibbs gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bulldog is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gibbs is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bulldog keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gibbs's head.
Bulldog postures up in Gibbs's guard and throws a big left but Gibbs blocks it.
Burbank Bulldog overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Bulldog drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gibbs dives on top into guard.

Bulldog will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bulldog manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Bulldog lands with a left to the head.

Bulldog pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gibbs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bulldog pinned against the cage. Bulldog gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gibbs darts in looking for a takedown but Bulldog gets double underhooks and turns Gibbs into the cage.

Bulldog shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Gibbs wants to get back to his feet.
Bulldog seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gibbs does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Gibbs pushes Bulldog off looking to stand but Bulldog dives back in and keeps control.

Bulldog is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Bulldog tries to pass to full mount but Gibbs defends it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bulldog stands up and beckons Gibbs to join him on the feet.
Gibbs avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bulldog wants to clinch up but Gibbs keeps it at a distance.
Gibbs dives in for a single leg takedown but Bulldog sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Bulldog's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gibbs avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Burbank Bulldog showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Bulldog has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Burbank Bulldog really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Das Labor logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
