PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pu Pachaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michel Desbiens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michel Desbiens told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pu Pachaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pachaka shoots in for a takedown but Desbiens shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Pachaka throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Desbiens was covering up waiting for the punch and Pachaka finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Desbiens tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Pachaka is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Desbiens is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Desbiens has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pachaka working for a triangle but Desbiens defends it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Desbiens is sitting in close to Pachaka's body. Pachaka has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Desbiens is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Desbiens is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Pachaka.
