The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jewpacabra throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Balan Syed has been cut.

Syed throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jewpacabra throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Syed sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Syed is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Syed has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jewpacabra is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Syed breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Syed throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jewpacabra.

Syed is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jewpacabra.

Jewpacabra lands a nice hook to Syed's body. Syed takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Syed takes one to the chin there.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Syed with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jewpacabra to score with a decent uppercut.
Syed uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jewpacabra.
Syed throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jewpacabra walks forward, straight into a front kick from Syed.
Jewpacabra lands a really nice looking cross but Syed seems unphased.
Jewpacabra misses the jab.
Syed checks a low kick from Jewpacabra.
Syed feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Syed accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My spies in Midnight MMA inform me that Syed has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Jewpacabra has a closed guard, preventing Syed from standing up.
Jewpacabra manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Syed manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because El Jewpacabra just wasn't active enough.
Syed throws the left hand but Jewpacabra avoids the punch easily.

Jewpacabra lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Syed is still on wobbly legs! Can Jewpacabra finish him?
Jewpacabra tries to land a knee to the head but Syed blocks with his arms.

Jewpacabra comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Syed has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Jewpacabra after a bit of a struggle.
El Jewpacabra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Balan Syed.
Jewpacabra makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Jewpacabra prevents Syed from breaking the clinch.
Jewpacabra unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Syed! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Jewpacabra is unloading with more strikes now! Syed drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
