Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rey Quincas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sonny Bill Williams!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quincas keeps the fight on the outside.
Quincas shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Williams tries to clinch up but Quincas circles away and keeps his distance.
Williams fails with an attempt to clinch.
Quincas has a takedown stuffed.
Quincas on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Williams tries to land a front kick but Quincas steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A slapping leg kick lands for Williams.
Sonny Bill Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Williams clinches up against the cage.
Williams comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Williams lands a hook to the side of the head.
Williams lands an uppercut.
Quincas is looking to take this one to the mat.
Quincas has been working on his balance at Clean and Green, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Williams.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rey Quincas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quincas wants to take the fight to the mat but Williams manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Williams is pressed up against the cage. Quincas has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Williams down to the mat. Williams avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Quincas circles away from the clinch attempt

and Quincas counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Quincas.

Quincas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quincas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Williams looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Quincas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Williams is keeping the position for now.
Williams is trying to control the position but Quincas postures up.
Quincas passes Williams's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Quincas has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Williams defend it? Quincas steps over the head and cranks it - Williams is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Quincas!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rey Quincas!
In defeat, Sonny Bill Williams stepped up to the mic, saying 'shit man that was a tough fight .. its not like boxing here ill tell ya .. at least my first loss is gone its time to move on and up '.
