Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darrin Hoffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sambo Patrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darrin Hoffman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sambo Patrick!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoffman fails with an attempt to clinch.
Patrick throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Patrick fails with the takedown.
Patrick throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hoffman on the side of the head.
Patrick tries to clinch but Hoffman is having none of it.
Patrick closes the distance but Hoffman moves to the side

and Hoffman moves into the clinch.

Patrick breaks the clinch.
Patrick fails to land the takedown.
Patrick shoots in for a takedown but Hoffman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Darrin Hoffman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sambo Patrick.

Patrick misses with a combination

and Hoffman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Patrick has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hoffman is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
A frustrated look appears on Patrick's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Patrick struggles to land a body shot inside as Hoffman controls his hands.

Patrick pulls guard effortlessly.
Hoffman stops Patrick from standing up.
Hoffman trying to control the position from guard on top but Patrick is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Patrick is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Hoffman presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Hoffman fails to pull guard.
Hoffman jumps guard but Patrick turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Hoffman gets underhooks to prevent Patrick's takedown attempt.

Hoffman decides to pull guard.
Patrick prevents Hoffman from getting back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hoffman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Patrick trying to control the position from guard on top but Hoffman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Hoffman wants to sweep but no luck.

We're going to have a standup here because Darrin Hoffman wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Patrick misses with a two punch combination.
Patrick ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Patrick tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hoffman defends well and Patrick ends up having to push Hoffman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Hoffman is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Hoffman stands up from Patrick's guard - Hoffman perhaps looking for a knockout.
Hoffman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Patrick gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hoffman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Patrick throws a head kick that misses.
A head kick by Hoffman misses

and Patrick holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Hoffman as Patrick tries to tie him up.
Hoffman jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Patrick walks away with a smile on his face. Hoffman gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sambo Patrick dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Patrick wants to clinch.
Patrick misses with a takedown attempt

and Hoffman counters by moving into the clinch.
Patrick tries for a takedown but Hoffman manages to get underhooks.
Hoffman is trying to pull guard but Patrick has him pressed against the cage.
Hoffman pushes Patrick back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Patrick wants to get back to striking at distance but Hoffman won't allow it.
Patrick is pressed up against the cage. Hoffman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Patrick down to the mat. Patrick avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Patrick looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hoffman throws a head kick that misses.

Patrick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Patrick wants to control from the top but Hoffman keeps moving.
Patrick prevents Hoffman from getting back to his feet.
Patrick slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hoffman seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sambo Patrick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Patrick.

The ground and pound from Patrick seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Hoffman is trying to get back to half guard.

Patrick decides to stand back up. Patrick steps back and let's Hoffman get back to his feet.
Hoffman keeps the fight on the outside.
Patrick takes a kick to the side of the head.

Hoffman gets caught flat footed, as Patrick shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Patrick won't allow Hoffman to get back to his feet.

Hoffman has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Patrick is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

and Hoffman counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hoffman.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hoffman gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Patrick is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hoffman is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hoffman jumps guard and drags Patrick to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Sambo Patrick showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Hoffman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hoffman wants it to stay on the feet.
Hoffman tries to clinch but Patrick is having none of it.
Patrick thuds a left hand into Hoffman's body.
Sambo Patrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Patrick swats away the attempt to clinch by Hoffman.

Hoffman is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Patrick is defending well for now.

Hoffman pulls Patrick into guard.
Patrick trying to control but Hoffman is working from the bottom.
Patrick looking to sit in guard and control but Hoffman gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Patrick not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Hoffman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Patrick manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hoffman has Patrick in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hoffman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Patrick is controlling him.
Patrick is looking to pass into half guard but Hoffman pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hoffman is in guard.
Hoffman throws an elbow that misses. Patrick uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hoffman's guard. Nice move by Patrick!
Patrick is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Patrick stands up from Hoffman's guard - Patrick perhaps looking for a knockout.
Patrick wants to clinch.
Patrick tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hoffman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Patrick closes the distance but Hoffman moves to the side
and Hoffman counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Patrick is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Patrick tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hoffman swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Patrick misses with a takedown attempt - Hoffman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Patrick shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hoffman pinned against the cage. Hoffman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Darrin Hoffman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sambo Patrick.
Patrick takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hoffman wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

I would just about give that final round to Sambo Patrick.
I've got Patrick winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
