PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Tosh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emmanuel Zsorats (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tosh kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Stepping Razor. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Tosh!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Emmanuel Zsorats!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tosh fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zsorats manages to avoid it.
Tosh changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Tosh is defended easily by Zsorats.
Tosh checks a low kick from Zsorats.
Zsorats feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Tosh's calf.

and Tosh counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Tosh looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Tosh is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Zsorats manages to get to full guard.
Tosh in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Zsorats has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at MuscleWorks Amsterdam™ . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Tosh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zsorats keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zsorats has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Tosh is working away from the top position though.
We've been hearing that Tosh has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Tosh wants to free his trapped foot but Zsorats is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Tosh looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zsorats with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Tosh has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Tosh is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Zsorats has managed to free his arm - good work.

Zsorats tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Tosh tries to pass to full mount but Zsorats defends it.
Zsorats is looking for a sweep. Tosh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tosh winds up and cracks Zsorats with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Tosh lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Zsorats is staying active underneath Tosh, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Tosh drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Zsorats is trying to control Tosh's posture but Tosh avoids it.

Tosh goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Zsorats has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tosh but great work by Zsorats.
Tosh is not content to let Zsorats control the position.

A lull in the action here as Zsorats stalls from top position.

Zsorats goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Tosh has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Zsorats but great work by Tosh.
Zsorats is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Tosh is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Zsorats is squirming around, avoiding Tosh's attempts to control the action.

Tosh drops back, looking for a kneebar! Zsorats looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Zsorats looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Zsorats!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close third round but Emmanuel Zsorats just about did enough to take it.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Zsorats lands a glancing blow to the side of Tosh's head.
Tosh sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Tosh checks a leg kick.
Zsorats goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Zsorats fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Tosh checks it well.
A nice inside leg kick there by Zsorats. That's going to slow Tosh down.
Tosh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Zsorats throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Tosh swings for the body but Zsorats moves out of range.
Zsorats moves out of range of the leg kick from Tosh.
Tosh takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Emmanuel Zsorats seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zsorats throws the kick towards the body but Tosh avoids it.
Tosh pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Tosh tries to sprawl but Zsorats drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Zsorats passes into side control, despite Tosh's attempt to control the position.

Zsorats wants to control but Tosh is keeping him busy.

Tosh has his feet on Zsorats's thighs here. He's pushed Zsorats off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Zsorats screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
