The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stunza misses the shot to the body.
Stunza shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Stunza was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Karwowski tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Stunza presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Karwowski has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stunza is working away from the top position though.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Stunza working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Stunza seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Karwowski tries to kick Stunza off but Stunza keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Stunza tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Karwowski.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Karwowski misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've been told by Karwowski's head coaches at Dragons' Den MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Karwowski avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Stunza moves in looking to clinch but Karwowski pushes him off.

Stunza looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Karwowski is fending him off so far but Stunza persists. Nope, Karwowski circles away and we're back to standing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stunza tries to clinch up.
Karwowski misses with the combination.
Karwowski throws a sloppy head kick and Stunza moves out of range easily.

Karwowski closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stunza circles away.
Stunza takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Stunza is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Karwowski shoots in and drives through. Stunza sprawls well.

Stunza tries to clinch up but Karwowski circles away and keeps his distance.

and Stunza cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Karwowski throws the left hand but Stunza avoids the punch easily.
Karwowski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stunza throws out the jab.
Stunza lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Karwowski throws a series of punches but Stunza avoids them all with ease.
Karwowski gets caught napping as Stunza dives in and scores a takedown. Karwowski manages to retain guard.
Stunza wants to get up but he can't break Karwowski's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Karwowski is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Stunza decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Karwowski, up you get!
Stunza throws a nice looking combination but Karwowski bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Karwowski pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Karwowski stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
It looks like Renars Stunza has been cut.
Karwowski swats away the attempt to clinch by Stunza.
Stunza cracks Karwowski on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Karwowski falls backwards against the cage. Stunza follows up with more strikes that drop Karwowski to his knees. Stunza keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Karwowski! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Renars Stunza!
