The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer throws a head kick that misses.
Aleksandrowicz throws a one two combo.

It looks like Jack Hammer has been cut.
Aleksandrowicz shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Aleksandrowicz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hammer tries to avoid it but Aleksandrowicz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hammer to the ground. Hammer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hammer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Hammer decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hammer wants to take a breather but Aleksandrowicz is having none of it.
Aleksandrowicz won't allow Hammer to pass to mount.
Aleksandrowicz wants to get back to full guard but Hammer has passed into side control.

Aleksandrowicz parries the strikes from Hammer easily there. Hammer is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Aleksandrowicz to escape.
Aleksandrowicz gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Hammer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Aleksandrowicz defends it well.

My spies in Finn Warriors Gym inform me that Hammer has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Aleksandrowicz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Aleksandrowicz lands a nice short elbow.
Hammer is looking for a sweep. Aleksandrowicz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
