Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thurman Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Satan Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopez has chosen Evisceration Plague as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez blocks a head kick by Pope.
Some bone on bone action there as Pope checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Pope really is a fat lump.
Lopez closes the distance and clinches up with Pope, looking for a takedown. Lopez pushes Pope against the cage but Pope circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pope swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Lopez counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Thurman Pope has been cut.
Lopez moves in looking to clinch but Pope pushes him off.
Lopez takes a swing at Pope's ribcage but misses.
Lopez fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pope throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pope tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lopez was well out of range. Poor timing from Pope.
Lopez fails to land the takedown.
Pope dodges the punch combination from Lopez.
Pope throws a head kick that Lopez semi-blocks.

Lopez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pope as he avoids it easily.
Thurman Pope has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Satan Lopez.

Lopez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pope paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Pope counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Lopez is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Satan Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pope keeps the fight on the outside.

Lopez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Pope manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Pope wants to get back to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lopez is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Pope is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
