Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Clinton Roy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anthony Smith!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Roy on his heels. He'll look to pass Roy's guard now, I'm sure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Roy keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass.
Roy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Smith works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Roy trying to control from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Smith seems content to control.
Roy wants to control but Smith is keeping busy.
Roy is holding on to half guard well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Clinton Roy.

Smith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Roy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smith is working away from the top position though.
Smith is looking to take a break and control but Roy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Clinton Roy has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Smith has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Roy clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Smith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Smith is looking to advance position but Roy won't allow it.

Smith stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Smith gets a clinch.
Roy wants a takedown.
Roy fails to pull guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony Smith dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Smith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Roy wants to hit a switch here but Smith passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Roy there!

Smith fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Roy to the ground. Smith is now in Roy's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Roy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Anthony Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
