Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thurman Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wolf Flow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flow has chosen Rich homie quan- difference as his entrance music. Wolf Flow has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thurman Pope!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wolf Flow!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope throws a series of punches but Flow moves out of range.
Pope throws a nice looking combination but Flow bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Pope misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pope darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Flow keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A right-left combo lands from Pope.
Pope looks to land a body kick but Flow moved away.
Flow swats away the attempt to clinch by Pope.
Pope tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Flow is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Flow dodges the punch combination from Pope.
Pope misses with a jab, cross combination.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pope takes a swing at Flow's ribcage but misses.
Flow slips a jab and a cross from Pope.
Pope fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sloppy strikes from Pope. Those never looked like landing.
Pope misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Flow counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Flow is controlling the pace.
Flow tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pope knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pope tries to get to full guard but Flow has control of the leg.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Wolf Flow hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Pope throws a sloppy head kick
and Flow makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Pope rushes Flow and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Flow stalling in the clinch.
Flow prevents Pope from breaking the clinch.
Pope is trying to break the clinch but Flow has him pressed against the cage.
Pope jumps guard but Flow stands there with Pope around his waist. Pope gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Flow keeps control of Pope as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flow keeps the fight on the outside.
Pope tries a head kick but it misses.
Pope thows a body shot but no joy.
The fight stays on the outside here - Pope looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Pope misses with a double jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Flow counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Pope looking to hit a scissor sweep but Flow is one step ahead there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Pope throws a sloppy head kick and Flow moves out of range easily.

Pope lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Flow circles away quickly and effectively.

so Flow counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Pope is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Wolf Flow hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Pope tries to clinch there but Flow circles away.

and Flow counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Pope is lucky that one didn't land flush.

and Flow counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Pope!
Flow trying to control the position but Pope is working away.

Flow decides to stand back up. Flow steps back and let's Pope get back to his feet.

Thurman Pope is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pope throws a big shot that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wolf Flow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Pope could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Pope pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pope throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fighters circling - Pope throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Thurman Pope seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Flow counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Pope throws a sloppy head kick and Flow moves out of range easily.
Pope misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pope tries to bum rush Flow with a series of wild strikes but Flow uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Flow swats away the attempt to clinch by Pope.

and Flow counters with a single leg into guard. Pope didn't expect that.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Wolf Flow.

and Flow counters with a series of strikes. Pope will be more careful next time no doubt.

Pope looks to land a combination but Flow avoids it well.
Thurman Pope is winning the standup battle so far.
Flow displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Pope throws out the jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pope. Flow does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pope has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Flow perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Wolf Flow wasn't active enough on the ground.
Pope throws a hook but Flow avoids it easily.

Pope misses with a double jab
and Flow counters with a good, hard body kick but Pope shrugs it off.
Pope is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Flow's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pope is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Wolf Flow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Flow has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
