And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Tucker!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tucker gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Nicholson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nicholson.
Nicholson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Nicholson is looking to break free of the clinch but Tucker has double underhooks.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Tyree Nicholson.
Tucker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Nicholson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like Alex Tucker has been cut.
Nicholson leaves Tucker with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Nicholson counters with a left and a right that stings Tucker.
Tucker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nicholson tries to avoid it but Tucker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nicholson to the ground. Nicholson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tucker looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tucker wants to stand and escape but Nicholson is having none of it.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tucker can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
