The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Igor Volkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Volkov misses with a few strikes there.
Volkov looks to land a combination but Mejia avoids it well.
Mejia tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Volkov defends well and Mejia ends up having to push Volkov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Volkov wants to break the clinch but can't.

Mejia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Volkov scores with a jab to the jaw.
Volkov throws a combination that misses
and Mejia counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Volkov thinking.
Volkov throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mejia counters with a series of strikes. Volkov will be more careful next time no doubt.
Mejia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Volkov sprawls well. Volkov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mejia gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice uppercut lands for Volkov. That snapped Mejia's head back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mejia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Volkov tries to avoid it but Mejia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Volkov to the ground. Volkov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeffery Mejia. That's going to take a lot out of him.

It looks like Jeffery Mejia has been cut.
Igor Volkov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Volkov changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Oh Mejia is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Volkov fakes the body blow, causing Mejia to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Mejia goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
