The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Beast takes the fight into the clinch.
Palhares ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Palhares no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The Beast trying to control but Palhares is working from the bottom.
The Beast is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The Beast throws an elbow that misses. Palhares uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in The Beast's guard. Nice move by Palhares!

Palhares pushes down on The Beast's leg and manages to get into half guard.
