PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Banker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mr mustard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Banker might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Voodoo. mr mustard is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Banker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, mr mustard!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Banker does no damage.

mustard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
mustard won't allow Banker to get back to his feet.
mustard makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Banker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Banker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Banker tries to close the distance and clinch up but mustard swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Banker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming mustard to the mat! mustard manages to get full guard.

Banker is fighting to break mustard's control of his arms but mustard is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Banker wants to stand but mustard has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
mustard seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
mustard wants to sweep here but Banker controlling him for the moment.
Banker wants to get up but he can't break mustard's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

mustard thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Banker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
mustard lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Banker!

mustard is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Banker has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Banker!

mustard looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Banker gets back to half guard.
Banker is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of mustard's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take mustard's back!
mustard looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
mustard rolls, trying to escape but Banker keeps control of the position.

Banker is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

mustard is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

mustard pushes Banker off and gets back to his feet.
mustard throws a right and a left that Banker avoids nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

mr mustard dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Banker turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Banker manages to end up in side control.

Banker could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Banker tries to stand but mustard is controlling from the bottom.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. mustard connects with a nice short shot to Banker's temple.

I really don't envy Banker right now.
