The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aderk has managed to clinch.

Aderk gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Azhiev regains guard.
Azhiev is trying to control the position but Aderk postures up.

Azhiev working for submissions but it's allowed Aderk to get to half guard.
Aderk wants to get back to his feet.
Azhiev is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Aderk's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Aderk's back!
Aderk manages to reverse the position and now he's in Azhiev's guard. Nice work there by Aderk.

Aderk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Azhiev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aderk has managed to get both his arms back between Azhiev's legs - danger averted.

Aderk makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Aderk is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Azhiev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aderk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Azhiev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aderk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Aderk is working Azhiev over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Aderk is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Aderk advances to half guard.
