Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Molefe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Fraser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alex Molefe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frankie Fraser!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Molefe misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Fraser.
Molefe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Molefe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Molefe has taken the fight to the clinch.

Molefe turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Molefe manages to end up in side control.
Fraser felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Molefe lands an elbow.
Fraser is trying to improve his position.

Molefe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fraser keeps working.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fraser can do anything to dispel that myth.
Molefe connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Fraser some visible discomfort.
Fraser tries to bench press Molefe off him but Molefe keeps the position.
Fraser is trying to control Molefe's posture but Molefe avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Molefe cracks Fraser with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Molefe wants to control but Fraser is keeping him busy.

Fraser is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Molefe off and has taken his back!
Fraser is trying to stick to Molefe's back but Molefe is turning into Fraser. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Fraser's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Molefe.

Fraser working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Molefe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Molefe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Molefe not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Fraser not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Molefe is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Molefe accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Molefe won't allow Fraser to sweep him here.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Molefe's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Molefe trying to control but Fraser is working from the bottom.
Fraser looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Molefe puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Fraser tries to roll over but Molefe keeps him under control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Molefe content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Fraser wants to improve his position but Molefe is controlling well.
Fraser has his hands clasped together around Molefe's back. He's all about the action.
Fraser is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Fraser is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Molefe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Molefe's back!

Molefe is trying to remain composed but Fraser is hammering down strikes to the side of his head.
Fraser punches the canvas rather than the man.

Molefe is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Molefe's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Fraser controlling well, preventing Molefe from escaping the position.
Fraser somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Molefe trying to get back to his feet but Fraser is in full control for now.
Fraser tries to keep control of the position but Molefe is staying busy.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fraser slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Molefe just looking to survive in the bad position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fraser doesn't have the hooks in and Molefe manages to turn into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Molefe checks a leg kick.

Molefe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fraser wants to control but Molefe postures up.
Fraser is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Molefe is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Fraser will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Fraser avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Molefe.
Fraser is looking to regain half guard here but Molefe keeps moving and retains side control.
Fraser struggling a bit here.
Fraser is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Molefe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Fraser manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Fraser looking for a guillotine here but Molefe defends easily.
Molefe trying to control the position from guard on top but Fraser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Molefe is pushing down on Fraser's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fraser is fighting to maintain full guard but Molefe has managed to sneak the leg through.
