Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thaddeus Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Lionel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lionel gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Lionel wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jimenez decides to pull guard.

Roger Lionel has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Lionel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lionel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jimenez's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lionel misses with a head kick.
Some bone on bone action there as Jimenez checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Jimenez darts in and clinches Lionel up against the cage.
Jimenez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lionel misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jimenez.
Jimenez wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Lionel tries to clinch up but Jimenez circles away and keeps his distance.
Lionel scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lionel looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Lionel is trying to control. Jimenez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Roger Lionel.
Lionel shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jimenez napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Jimenez is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jimenez is squirming around, avoiding Lionel's attempts to control the action.
Jimenez sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Lionel tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jimenez knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Roger Lionel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Lionel tries to clinch but Jimenez moves out of range.

Lionel closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jimenez quickly recovers to half guard.
Lionel is looking to advance position but Jimenez won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lionel wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Jimenez uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roger Lionel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Lionel feints and as Jimenez raises his hands in defense, Lionel changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jimenez pulls Lionel in close to his closed guard and prevents Lionel from doing any damage or advancing position.
Lionel stops Jimenez from standing up.
Jimenez avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lionel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jimenez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Thaddeus Jimenez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Lionel closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jimenez to the mat! Jimenez manages to get full guard.

Lionel shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lionel was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lionel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lionel throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jimenez tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lionel is in Jimenez's guard.

Jimenez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lionel is controlling him.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Roger Lionel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Jimenez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lionel to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Lionel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jimenez has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lionel has passed into side control.

The ground and pound from Lionel seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Jimenez tries to bench press Lionel off him but Lionel keeps the position.
Lionel wants to control but Jimenez is keeping him busy.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lionel is trying to get an arm triangle but Jimenez is defending well.
