PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anzor Azhiev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arsene Dumars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Azhiev kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Czeczen Team. Arsene Dumars told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anzor Azhiev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arsene Dumars!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and David Hoff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dumars closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Azhiev to the mat! Azhiev manages to get full guard.
Azhiev looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Dumars stands up from Azhiev's guard - Dumars perhaps looking for a knockout.

Dumars pushes Azhiev up against the cage in a clinch.
Dumars gets through Azhiev's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Dumars jumps into guard, dragging Azhiev to the mat.
Dumars tries to strike from the bottom.
Dumars wants to stand but Azhiev is controlling the position.
Dumars looking to hit a scissor sweep but Azhiev is one step ahead there.

Dumars has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Azhiev off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Azhiev manages to break the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Dumars's corner calls for a 1-2. Dumars obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Dumars ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Dumars drives through with a takedown into Azhiev's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dumars stands up and waves to Azhiev to follow him.

Dumars is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Azhiev's half guard.
Azhiev wants to control but Dumars passes into side.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dumars decides to stand back up. Dumars steps back and let's Azhiev get back to his feet.

Dumars lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Azhiev sprawling to the canvas. Dumars follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Azhiev hang on?

Azhiev is rocked!

Dumars stands up from half guard.
Oh Azhiev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dumars goes for a small jab and connects. Now Dumars goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Azhiev stumbles back but Dumars runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Azhiev to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Azhiev will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
