The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ozawa feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mapless jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Ozawa's coach down at Synergy Fight Team was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Ozawa's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Yuma Ozawa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ozawa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maples manages to avoid it.
A slapping leg kick lands for Maples.
Maples pivots, looking for a leg kick but Ozawa is out of range and Maples settles back down.
A punch lands to the side of Maples 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Ozawa looks to score with a jab to the body but Maples is just out of range.

Maples ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ozawa moves away.

Maples is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Ozawa's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Ozawa wants to stand but Maples has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Maples seems keen to control Ozawa's posture.
Maples has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Ozawa doesn't defend quickly enough and Maples has managed to lock this one up! Can Ozawa escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Maples on a fantastic submission victory.
