Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cormac Gutz!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ava Noel!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noel is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gutz.
Gutz attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Noel feints and then cracks Gutz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gutz down.
Gutz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gutz bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gutz jabs Noel to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gutz fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Gutz walks into a left hand.
Noel keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Gutz lands with a right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gutz throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Noel dips to his left and cracks Gutz with an uppercut!
Gutz fails to land the takedown.
Gutz moves away from the strike by Noel.
We've been hearing reports that Gutz has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Noel scores with a jab.
Gutz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Noel showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gutz.
Ava Noel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Noel misses with a combination

and Gutz counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Noel is in trouble now - Gutz has advanced to mount!
Noel takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gutz breaks from Noel's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Gutz working the ground and pound effectively.
Gutz dominating with strikes here.
Gutz is landing with some decent strikes but Noel is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Noel is bucking up trying to escape but Gutz cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Noel is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Noel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gutz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gutz is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Noel can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Gutz connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Noel can do anything to dispel that myth.
A nice elbow there by Gutz.


Noel is rocked!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gutz cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Noel is still in real trouble! Can Gutz finish him?
Gutz looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Noel covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cormac Gutz!

A very excited looking Cormac Gutz made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
