Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fernando Martinez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Executive Screening!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Screening swats away the attempt to clinch by Martinez.
A head kick misses from Martinez.
Martinez fails to land the takedown.
Martinez checks a low kick from Screening.
Screening fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Martinez avoids it really well and circles away.
Martinez shoots in for a takedown but Screening shows good takedown defense.

Screening closes the distance and pushes Martinez back into the cage.
Martinez can't break the clinch.
Screening has Martinez pressed against the cage, preventing Martinez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Screening is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Screening turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Screening manages to end up in side control.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Screening is looking to take a break and control but Martinez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Martinez is looking to regain half guard here but Screening keeps moving and retains side control.
Screening tries to move into full mount but can't pass Martinez's legs.
You can see the frustration on Martinez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Screening lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Martinez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Screening's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Screening is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Martinez has managed to free his arm - good work.

Martinez tries to get to full guard but Screening has control of the leg.
Martinez is working hard here to advance position.

Screening really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martinez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Martinez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Screening swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Screening looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Screening closes the distance and pushes Martinez back into the cage.
Martinez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Screening to keep the fight standing.

Screening pulls guard.
Martinez passes Screening's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Martinez in particular looking to stall.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Martinez prevents Screening from improving his position.
Martinez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Screening can do anything to dispel that myth.
Screening is looking to control Martinez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Screening avoid being mounted?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Fernando Martinez.

Screening drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Screening takes the fight into the clinch.

Martinez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Martinez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Martinez blocks a head kick by Screening.
Martinez moves out of range of the body kick from Screening.

Screening drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Screening jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Screening wants to control from the top but Martinez keeps moving.

Screening got a little sloppy there for a moment and Martinez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Screening has managed to get both his arms back between Martinez's legs - danger averted.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Executive Screening hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Screening changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Martinez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Martinez is not content to let Screening control the position.

Screening tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Screening tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Screening has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Martinez is looking for a sweep.
Screening tries to advance to mount but Martinez denies him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Executive Screening showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Fernando Martinez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Executive Screening.

Martinez is pressed up against the cage. Screening has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Martinez down to the mat. Martinez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Martinez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Fernando Martinez has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Martinez throws a nice looking combination but Screening bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Screening feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Executive Screening was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Screening manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Martinez on his heels. He'll look to pass Martinez's guard now, I'm sure.

Executive Screening comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Screening has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
