Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ike Norton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bruce Banner!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner clobbers Norton with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Ike Norton has been cut.
Norton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Norton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
No luck for Norton with that takedown attempt.
Banner keeps the fight on the outside.
Norton takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Banner closes the distance and pushes Norton back into the cage.
Norton missing with knees to the body.
Banner prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ike Norton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Banner lands a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A quick uppercut on the inside from Banner.
Banner lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Banner lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Banner's coach down at Bushido Training Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Banner's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Banner drops Norton onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Norton is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Norton is rocked!
Norton is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Banner is leaning against Norton and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Oh Norton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Banner works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Banner lands a body punch.
A right handed body shot lands from Banner.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Banner lands a nice shot to the body.
Banner creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Norton with a big uppercut! Norton tries to clinch up but Banner pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Norton to the mat! Norton covers up and Banner unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Bruce Banner!
