Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Kravchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Axe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dmitry Kravchenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Axe!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Kravchenko as Axe shoots in.
Axe takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Axe darts in and clinches Kravchenko up against the cage.

Axe's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Axe misses with a series of wild punches.
Kravchenko throws a hook but Axe avoids it easily.
Good work by Kravchenko as he checks the leg kick.
Kravchenko jabs Axe right on the nose. Axe blinks but takes it well.
Axe shoots in for a takedown but Kravchenko shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Axe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kravchenko pinned against the cage. Kravchenko gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dmitry Kravchenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Axe.

Mark Axe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Axe has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Kravchenko is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Axe.
Kravchenko looks to land a combination. Axe sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Kravchenko looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

and Kravchenko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Axe misses with a takedown attempt - Kravchenko sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kravchenko connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Kravchenko cracks Axe with an open hand slap.

Kravchenko looks to land a right hand but Axe moved out of range.
Axe slips under a jab from Kravchenko.
Axe is trying desperately to land a takedown but Kravchenko is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Axe.

Axe tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kravchenko takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Axe tries to clinch but Kravchenko moves out of range.
Axe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kravchenko manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kravchenko scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Kravchenko cracks Axe with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Kravchenko is looking to control Axe's arms but Axe gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kravchenko has his back to the cage.
Axe is trying to stall.

Axe breaks from the clinch.
Dmitry Kravchenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Axe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Axe throws an overhand right that lands on Kravchenko's shoulder, as Kravchenko tries to avoid the shot.
Kravchenko is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
A slapping leg kick lands for Axe.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Axe swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kravchenko counters with a left and a right that stings Axe.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Axe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kravchenko paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Axe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kravchenko moves away.
A punch combination from Kravchenko misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Axe goes for a double leg but Kravchenko avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kravchenko continues to drive forward.
Kravchenko blocks the elbow strike.

Axe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A swing and a miss from Kravchenko.
Axe rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kravchenko moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A telegraphed right hand from Kravchenko misses the target.
Kravchenko swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Axe.
Axe throws a leg kick but Kravchenko sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Kravchenko throws a series of strikes that have Axe backpedaling.
Kravchenko connects with a nice looking jab.
Axe lands a nice hook to Kravchenko's body. Kravchenko takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kravchenko misses with a straight right.
Kravchenko tries to bum rush Axe with a series of wild strikes but Axe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Axe takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kravchenko lands an overhand right.
Axe is looking to land body kicks.
A slow jab from Kravchenko misses its intended target.
Kravchenko cracks Axe with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Axe has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Axe there as he acknowledges the shot.
Kravchenko scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Axe is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Axe misses with an attempted mid kick.
Axe bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Kravchenko throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Axe on the side of the head.

Axe has managed to clinch.

Axe pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kravchenko throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kravchenko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kravchenko looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Axe has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Axe goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Axe changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Axe throws a head kick but Kravchenko moves out of range.

Kravchenko cracks Axe with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Axe tries to clinch up but Kravchenko circles away and keeps his distance.

Axe takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Kravchenko fails to land with a series of punches.

Kravchenko throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Kravchenko lands a lovely overhand right.
Axe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kravchenko circles away.

Axe throws a leg kick
and Kravchenko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Axe throws a leg kick that is checked
and Kravchenko counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kravchenko wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Axe needs to keep his hands up - Kravchenko had a free shot at his head there.
Kravchenko pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Axe back to the cage. Kravchenko follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Kravchenko fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Axe shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kravchenko but Kravchenko pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Axe misses with a double jab
and Kravchenko counters with a left and a right that stings Axe.


Axe is rocked!
Kravchenko lands a jab to the nose.
Axe is still on wobbly legs! Can Kravchenko finish him?
Kravchenko lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Axe goes down and covers up as Kravchenko starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dmitry Kravchenko!
