Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tracy Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Riddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tracy Ball!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steven Riddle!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ball clinches.
Riddle tries to score a body lock takedown but Ball shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Ball stops a takedown attempt from Riddle.
Ball prevents the takedown attempt.
Tracy Ball has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steven Riddle.
Ball blocks an elbow strike.

Ball's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Riddle throws a big shot that misses.
A head kick misses from Ball.
Riddle is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Riddle has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Riddle shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ball defends it nicely.
Riddle shoots in looking for a takedown. Ball tries to sprawl out of it but Riddle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ball manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ball rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Riddle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Riddle leaves Ball with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Ball connects with a nice looking jab.
Riddle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ball sprawls well. Ball wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Riddle gets slowly back to his feet.

Riddle looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Ball kicks off Riddle and gets to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Riddle fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Riddle feints and as Ball raises his hands in defense, Riddle changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ball manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Riddle tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ball defends well and Riddle ends up having to push Ball into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ball has Riddle pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Riddle manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Riddle postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Riddle controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Steven Riddle was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Riddle shoots in for a takedown but Ball shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A bone on bone clash there as Ball blocks the leg kick.
Ball tests Riddle's chin there with a solid looking shot.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Riddle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ball but Ball pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ball really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ball shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Riddle manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tracy Ball will probably get the nod.
That's time! Ball's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Ball closes the distance and clinches.

Ball goes for a takedown attempt but Riddle pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Tracy Ball is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ball tries for a takedown but Riddle sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Riddle wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ball has him pressed against the cage.

Ball pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Riddle shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ball defends it nicely.
Riddle tries to clinch up but Ball circles away and keeps his distance.
Riddle takes one to the side of the head.
Ball fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Riddle is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ball sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Riddle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ball is just riding it out for now. Riddle eventually gives up the hold.
Riddle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ball keeps working.

Riddle might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ball haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Riddle looks for a takedown but Ball sprawls well.
Riddle wants to clinch up but Ball keeps it at a distance.

Ball manages to break the clinch.
Ball thows a body shot but no joy.
Ball tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ball showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Riddle.

Ball clinches up with Riddle and pushes him back against the cage.

Ball keeping moving, preventing Riddle from controlling successfully.
Ball looking to hit a scissor sweep but Riddle is one step ahead there.

Riddle trying to control but Ball is working from the bottom.
Ball will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ball has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Riddle can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ball pulls Riddle in close to prevent any damage.
Ball keeping moving, preventing Riddle from controlling successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tracy Ball.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ball, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
