Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oliver Rechsteiner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Armando Elcock!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Rechsteiner. Those never looked like landing.
Oliver Rechsteiner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Elcock dips to his left and cracks Rechsteiner with an uppercut!
Rechsteiner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Elcock tries to avoid it but Rechsteiner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Elcock to the ground. Elcock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rechsteiner shoots in but no luck this time.

It looks like Oliver Rechsteiner has been cut.

Elcock throws a series of punches but Rechsteiner avoids them all with ease.
Rechsteiner misses with a takedown attempt - Elcock sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Oliver Rechsteiner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Elcock throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rechsteiner connects with a leg kick. Elcock looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

and Elcock cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Elcock pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rechsteiner back to the cage. Elcock follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Rechsteiner looks for a takedown but Elcock sprawls well.

Rechsteiner tries to clinch but Elcock moves out of range.
Elcock thows a body shot but no joy.
Rechsteiner shoots in for a takedown but Elcock shows good takedown defense.

Rechsteiner closes the distance but Elcock moves to the side
and Elcock cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We've been told by Rechsteiner's head coaches at Soco na mãe - Stand Up Striking that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Elcock will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Elcock scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Rechsteiner shoots in for a takedown but Elcock shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rechsteiner wants to clinch up but Elcock keeps it at a distance.
Armando Elcock is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rechsteiner takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Elcock scores with a sloppy right hand. Rechsteiner should have avoided that one.

Oooooh!!! Elcock has knocked Rechsteiner down with a huge combo! Elcock steps away and waves a wobbly Rechsteiner back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Elcock lands the left hand.

Elcock fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Rechsteiner to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Rechsteiner looks to clinch but Elcock throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Rechsteiner taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
