The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norton wants to clinch up but Briggs keeps it at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Norton.
Norton fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Norton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Briggs stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Briggs wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ike Norton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Norton lands a high kick!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Norton is defended easily by Briggs.

Briggs scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Briggs is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Norton is just riding it out for now. Briggs eventually gives up the hold.

Briggs is working for an americana but Norton has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Briggs was thinking about the submission.

Briggs is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Norton can't keep his opponent in guard - Briggs advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Briggs throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Briggs is looking to take a break and control but Norton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Briggs seems content to control.
Briggs landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Briggs looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Norton with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Briggs is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Norton!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
