Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pettis is looking to clinch.

Adams changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pettis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Adams wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pettis, who protects the arm well.
Pettis tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Adams wants to stand but Pettis has his arm trapped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adams shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Pettis is working an open guard so Adams takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Adams closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pettis's guard.

Adams slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Adams connects with a nice short shot to Pettis's temple.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Adams is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Pettis can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Adams's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Federico Adams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Adams postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pettis looks a forlorn figure.
