Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Choe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kai Spiller!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spiller looks to land a combination but Choe avoids it well.
No joy there for Spiller, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Spiller misses with a two punch combination.
Spiller gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Choe is working for takedown but Spiller is calmly controlling the position for now.
Choe is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Spiller gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Choe has picked Spiller up - he's going for a ride! Choe dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Choe is trying to control the action in half guard but Spiller is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Well, if Choe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
Choe is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Spiller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Choe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Choe is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Choe seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Choe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Choe trying to control from half guard but Spiller is working away.
Spiller has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Choe is working away from the top position though.
Choe is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Spiller is defending against the submission attempts here by Choe.
Choe frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Spiller tries to lock up and control but Choe gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Choe working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Choe working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Choe looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Choe takes Spiller's back.
Choe has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Spiller has freed his hand and lives to survive another� well, another couple of seconds at least!
Choe punches the canvas rather than the man.
Spiller trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Choe is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Spiller with him. Spiller is trying to defend but Choe has an arm under the chin now! Spiller grimaces and is forced to tap out!
