Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

22 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryuu Matsumoto!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Costas throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Costas pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Matsumoto back to the cage. Costas follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Costas tries to bum rush Matsumoto with a series of wild strikes but Matsumoto uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Matsumoto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice cross by Costas.
Costas misses with a two punch combination.
Costas scores with a hook to the body. Matsumoto takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Matsumoto moves into range and clinches up with Costas.
Costas gets underhooks to prevent Matsumoto's takedown attempt.
Matsumoto drops down looking for an ankle pick but Costas pulls his leg out and moves away.
Costas tries to clinch but Matsumoto is having none of it.

Costas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Matsumoto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Matsumoto blocks a head kick by Costas.
Matsumoto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Costas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Matsumoto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Costas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Costas sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Costas wants to control but Matsumoto is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Costas moves into full guard.
Matsumoto with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Costas wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Matsumoto is now in half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Costas is looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Costas is trying to control but can't.
Costas is looking for a sweep. Matsumoto is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Costas is trying to maintain the position but Matsumoto is very close to passing his half guard.
Costas tries to kick Matsumoto off but Matsumoto keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Miquel Costas wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Costas fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Miquel Costas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Costas tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Matsumoto counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Matsumoto.

Costas is trying to force a seperation but Matsumoto has the dominant position.
Matsumoto goes for a takedown in the clinch but Costas prevents it.
Miquel Costas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryuu Matsumoto.
Matsumoto drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Costas is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Matsumoto tries for a takedown but Costas manages to get underhooks.
Matsumoto drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Costas gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Matsumoto has Costas pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Costas manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Costas tries to break free but Matsumoto pushes him back against the cage.
Costas tries to stall but Matsumoto uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Matsumoto keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Costas's efforts to push away.
Matsumoto is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Costas pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Costas is trying to break the clinch but Matsumoto is controlling him.
Matsumoto managing to block the knees to the body from Costas.
Costas is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Costas tries to break free but Matsumoto pushes him back against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Costas wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Matsumoto has him pressed against the cage.
Costas wants to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Miquel Costas dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Costas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Matsumoto.
Matsumoto feints and as Costas raises his hands in defense, Matsumoto changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Costas is looking for a triangle here but Matsumoto uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Matsumoto advances to mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
You get the feeling that Costas really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matsumoto pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Matsumoto working away from the top, dropping strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Matsumoto postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Costas looks a forlorn figure.
Costas throwing hammer fists to the chest of Matsumoto. What's that going to do exactly?

Costas is in a horrible position here. Matsumoto smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Costas is rocked!

Oh Costas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Costas is wriggling around trying to escape.
Matsumoto postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Costas in real trouble here! The ref calls for Costas to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryuu Matsumoto!
