Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Laws (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nagib Holgersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob Laws had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Nagib Holgersen is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Laws!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nagib Holgersen!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holgersen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Laws fails in his attempt to clinch.
Holgersen has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Laws is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Crunch! Holgersen slams his shin into Laws's torso.
Nagib Holgersen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Holgersen instigates a clinch.
Holgersen has had enough of the clinch but Laws keeps him there for the moment.
Laws is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Holgersen pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Holgersen breaks from the clinch.
Laws tries to score a power double leg takedown but Holgersen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Laws somewhat.
Holgersen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Laws, pushing him back against the cage.
Holgersen tries to land a knee to the head but Laws blocks with his arms.
Holgersen fails to pull guard.
Holgersen jumps guard and drags Laws to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Laws prevents Holgersen from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Laws trying to control the position from guard on top but Holgersen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Holgersen is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Holgersen is looking to stand back up but Laws counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Holgersen.
Holgersen wants to get back to his feet.
Laws trying to control the action but Holgersen is working from the bottom.
Laws sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Holgersen defending well though.

Laws moves nicely into side control.
Laws trying to control the position but Holgersen is working away.
Holgersen tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Laws working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Holgersen wants to get back to his feet.

Holgersen is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Holgersen looks winded!
Holgersen staying busy and making it hard for Laws to control.
Holgersen won't enjoy being in this position. Laws looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Holgersen is tapping - it's over boys! Laws picks up the submission victory!

After winning the bout, Jacob Laws thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
