Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Coulter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Kenny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Thomas Coulter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Jackson Kenny!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenny throws a hook but Coulter avoids it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Kenny. No joy for Coulter on that attempt.
Kenny stuffs the takedown attempt from Coulter. Coulter gets slowly back to his feet.
Coulter misses with a few strikes there.
Coulter wants to clinch.
Kenny throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Coulter.
Coulter swings widly with a right hand

and Kenny counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kenny.

Kenny is fighting off a takedown attempt but Coulter is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Kenny to the mat. Kenny regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coulter wants to control from the top but Kenny keeps moving.
Kenny is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Coulter is controlling him.

Coulter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Coulter with a flurry of punches that miss.
Coulter lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Coulter wants to control from the top but Kenny keeps moving.
Kenny is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Kenny is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Coulter is controlling him.

Coulter is working hard here to advance position.
Coulter wants to control from the top but Kenny keeps moving.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Coulter feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Coulter wants to take a breather but Kenny is having none of it.
Kenny is trying to stand up here but Coulter is controlling him well.
Coulter throws a strike but Kenny avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kenny can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Coulter controls the pace.

Coulter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Coulter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Coulter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kenny is not content to let Coulter control the position.

Coulter is looking to take a break and control but Kenny is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Coulter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kenny knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Coulter goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kenny has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Coulter but great work by Kenny.
Kenny gets to mount! Coulter was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Coulter tries to lock up and control but Kenny gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Coulter is looking to get to half guard.

Coulter manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Kenny passes into side control, despite Coulter's attempt to control the position.

Coulter is looking for a sweep.
Coulter looks to move to half guard but instead Kenny has passed into mount! Damn!
Kenny wants to get back to his feet but Coulter is holding on tight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Coulter darts in and clinches Kenny up against the cage.
Kenny prevents the takedown attempt.
Kenny softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Kenny on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Coulter tries to pull guard but Kenny forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Kenny is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thomas Coulter. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kenny breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Coulter tries to clinch up
and Kenny counters with a nice uppercut.

Kenny stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Kenny blocks a body shot from Coulter.
Kenny lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Coulter backwards.
Coulter wants a takedown but no success here.

Kenny is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Coulter is keeping busy.

Coulter manages to break the clinch.
Coulter tries to clinch up.
Coulter tries to close the distance and clinch but Kenny swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Coulter closes the distance but Kenny moves to the side

and Kenny holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kenny tries to throw a body punch but Coulter avoids it by throwing Kenny back against the cage.
Coulter is working for takedown but Kenny is calmly controlling the position for now.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kenny.

Kenny's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kenny takes a swing at Coulter's ribcage but misses.
Kenny throws a combination. Coulter tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Coulter tries to clinch but Kenny is having none of it.
Coulter shoots in for a takedown but Kenny shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jackson Kenny is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Coulter lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kenny has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kenny and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Coulter throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kenny was covering up waiting for the punch and Coulter finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kenny wants to stand and escape but Coulter is having none of it.

Coulter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kenny works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kenny preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coulter wants to pass the guard but Kenny is keeping the position.

Coulter throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Coulter has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Coulter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kenny swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Coulter wants to control from the top but Kenny keeps moving.
Thomas Coulter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Thomas Coulter.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Coulter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
