PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kenta Kisotsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Jacobson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kisotsu kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Click Click Boom. Kenta Kisotsu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenta Kisotsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jake Jacobson!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kisotsu bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jacobson is looking for a sweep.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Kisotsu tries for a kimura but Jacobson is defending well.
Jacobson is trying to improve his position.
Kisotsu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kisotsu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jacobson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kisotsu drops back looking for a leg! Jacobson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jacobson manages to kick Kisotsu off! Kisotsu jumps back into Jacobson's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jacobson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kisotsu is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jacobson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kisotsu's back instead.
Jacobson connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Kisotsu to escape the position.
Kisotsu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

You can see the frustration on Kisotsu's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Kisotsu really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jacobson is landing with some decent strikes but Kisotsu is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Kisotsu wants to sweep here but Jacobson controlling him for the moment.

Jacobson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kisotsu's head.

Kisotsu throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Jacobson is pushing down on Kisotsu's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kisotsu is fighting to maintain full guard but Jacobson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Kisotsu is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jacobson pulls his head out easily.

Jacobson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kisotsu with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
