PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between WIlliam Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lane Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Bob might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I got my game on. Frost is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: 8 second ride (Jake Owen). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 18 - 0, fighting out of New York, WIlliam Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lane Frost!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frost fails with the takedown.
Bob has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Frost showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bob.

Frost feints and as Bob raises his hands in defense, Frost changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Frost sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bob's guard.
Frost is trying to control the action in half guard but Bob is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Frost is just content to waste time from the top position. Bob takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Bob had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Frost defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frost uses his free foot to push down on Bob's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bob.

Still in half guard, Frost seems content to control.
Frost seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bob does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lane Frost was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Frost's jab looks to have found its range, popping Bob under the eye.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bob tries to close the distance and clinch but Frost swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bob thows a body shot but no joy.
Frost blocks the body kick.
Frost misses with a looping left.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Bob gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Bob throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Frost lands with an uppercut that bounces Bob off the cage and back into range.
Frost shoots in for a double leg but Bob sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

WIlliam Bob is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bob swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Frost connects with a body shot that sends Bob's belly button to the back.

Frost closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Bob on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bob tries to get out of the position.

Bob tries to bench press Frost off him but Frost keeps the position.
Frost landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

Frost wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bob keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bob manages to get back to half guard.
Frost wants to take a breather but Bob is having none of it.

Bob moves into full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Frost tries to free his leg and advance position but Bob is retaining full guard.

Frost avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Frost passes Bob's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bob has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lane Frost dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Bob wants to clinch up but Frost keeps it at a distance.
Frost blocks the body kick.
Bob looks for the body kick but Frost saw that one coming.
Frost throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bob ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
WIlliam Bob is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bob throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Frost swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bob takes a jab right on the kisser.
Frost misses with a hook. Bob ducked under it nicely.

Bob gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Frost tries to throw a body punch but Bob avoids it by throwing Frost back against the cage.
Frost swings wildly with an uppercut but Bob uses good head movement to avoid it.

Frost is taking a breather. Bob says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lane Frost wasn't active enough on the ground.

Bob escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Frost fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bob on the side of the head.
Bob avoids a kick to the body.
Frost takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Bob is looking to wear down Frost with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Frost fails to land with a series of punches.
Bob dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Bob tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Frost was well out of range. Poor timing from Bob.

No joy there for Bob, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Frost lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bob throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Frost.

Bob lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Frost circles away quickly and effectively.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to WIlliam Bob.
I think Bob has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A victorious WIlliam Bob thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
In defeat, Lane Frost stepped up to the mic, saying 'O my god why? I get on a roll and then make a stupid mistake. I've faught Bob before I know what he does I can beat him, I got over confidant and paid for it. I want a shot at Glory!'.
