Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between William Adama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, William Adama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugo Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adama throws a head kick that misses.
Adama throws a sloppy head kick and Lewis moves out of range easily.
Lewis fails to land the takedown.
Lewis shoots in and drives through. Adama sprawls well.
Lewis has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Adama is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Adama fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lewis, pushing him back against the cage.
Lewis is trying to pull guard but Adama turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
William Adama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Lewis.

Lewis works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Adama looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Lewis controls from within his opponent's guard.
Lewis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

It looks like Lewis might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Hugo Lewis wasn't active enough on the ground.
Lewis looks to clinch
and Adama counters with a solid body kick.
Adama tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lewis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch but Adama swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Adama throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Adama looks for the body kick but Lewis saw that one coming.
Adama tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lewis paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lewis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Adama wants to sweep but no luck.
Lewis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Lewis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Lewis is looking to work some ground and pound but Adama has wrist control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lewis is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Adama on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Adama tries to get out of the position.

Adama tries to clinch there but Lewis circles away.
Lewis tries to clinch but Adama moves out of range.
Adama scores with a head kick. Lewis tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Lewis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Adama avoids it really well and circles away.
Lewis fails with a takedown attempt.
Lewis moves in looking to clinch but Adama pushes him off.
Lewis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lewis clinches with his opponent.
Adama tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Adama misses with a body punch.
Adama stops a takedown attempt from Lewis.
Adama tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lewis avoids it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adama trying to control but Lewis is working from the bottom.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because William Adama just wasn't active enough.

Lewis clinches up with Adama and pushes him back against the cage.

Lewis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lewis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Adama might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lewis has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Adama takes the fight into the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lewis can't get the takedown.
Adama is pressed up against the cage. Lewis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Adama down to the mat. Adama avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
We've been told by Adama's head coaches at Hilo Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adama swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lewis moves in looking to clinch but Adama pushes him off.

Lewis moves into the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Adama.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hugo Lewis dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Adama pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Adama moves into range and clinches up with Lewis.
Lewis is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Adama pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Adama struggles to land a body shot inside as Lewis controls his hands.
Lewis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Adama smiles and moves away.
Adama is looking to clinch.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown but Adama shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
William Adama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Lewis.

Adama clinches with his opponent.
Lewis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Adama walks away with a smile on his face. Lewis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lewis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Adama moves in looking to clinch but Lewis pushes him off.
Adama stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Adama wants it to stay on the feet.
Adama throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Adama tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Lewis takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Hugo Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lewis circles away from the clinch attempt.
William Adama is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Adama throws a low kick but Lewis avoids it.
Lewis lands a leg kick that knocks Adama off balance momentarily.

Lewis has Adama up against the cage in a clinch.

Adama is fighting off a takedown attempt but Lewis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Adama to the mat. Adama regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Adama pulls Lewis in close to prevent any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Adama throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lewis tries to clinch up but Adama circles away and keeps his distance.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Adama as he jumps to the side.

Lewis instigates a clinch.
Lewis on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Lewis prevents a body shot from Adama.

Lewis pulls guard.
Adama looking to sit in guard and control but Lewis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Lewis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Adama works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Adama wants to get back to his feet but Lewis is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Hugo Lewis.
Lewis shoots in but Adama avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Lewis fails with an attempt to clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Adama moves in looking to clinch but Lewis pushes him off.
Adama swats away the attempt to clinch by Lewis.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Hugo Lewis will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Adama is looking to slow Lewis down with leg kicks.
Lewis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Adama tries to avoid it but Lewis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Adama to the ground. Adama escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
William Adama is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Adama circles away from the clinch attempt.

Adama tries to keep at a distance but Lewis has taken the fight into the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Adama fails to land.
Adama lands a knee to the body.
Lewis jumps guard but Adama turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Adama lands an elbow that stopped Lewis in his tracks for a moment.
William Adama has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Lewis tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Adama smiles and moves away.
William Adama has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hugo Lewis.
Lewis doesn't manage to clinch there - Adama circles away.
Lewis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Adama lands a big head kick that sends Lewis tumbling to the mat! Adama takes a step backwards and waves Lewis back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Lewis is rocked!


It looks like Hugo Lewis has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Adama gets a clinch.
Lewis is still on wobbly legs! Can Adama finish him?
Adama unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Lewis! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Adama is unloading with more strikes now! Lewis drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William Adama!
In his post fight interview, William Adama started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
