The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kyo with a lazy takedown attempt

and Wilkerson counters with a single leg into guard. Kyo didn't expect that.
Wilkerson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kyo is trying to control the position but Wilkerson postures up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kyo is trying to pull guard but Wilkerson has him pressed against the cage.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wilkerson is on top in guard.

Wilkerson wants to get up but he can't break Kyo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Wilkerson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Wilkerson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Kyo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Wilkerson stacks Kyo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Wilkerson!

Kyo lands with a kick to the temple. Wilkerson shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Wilkerson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kyo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kyo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wilkerson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
