I was talking to Nancy's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Nancy drops his shoulder and cracks Najdek with a huge uppercut! Najdek goes down! Can Nancy finish him?

The referee asks Nancy politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Nancy prefers to stall for the moment though.

Nancy lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Nancy scores with a hook to the body. Najdek takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Najdek throws a nice looking combination but Nancy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nancy jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Nancy throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Najdek's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Nancy dives in looking to finish as Najdek flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Nancy's strikes! Nancy is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Najdek's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Najdek was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
