The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wojcik lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Vermenko steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Wojcik. That one must have hurt.
Vermenko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wojcik swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wojcik throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Vermenko stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Wojcik follows into mount!

It looks like Sergey Vermenko has been cut.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Wojcik misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Vermenko is still in real trouble! Can Wojcik finish him?

Wojcik goes for an armbar but Vermenko turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Vermenko.

Vermenko moves into range and clinches up with Wojcik.

Vermenko has Wojcik pressed against the cage, preventing Wojcik from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Wojcik lands with a kick to the temple. Vermenko shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Vermenko tries to clinch but Wojcik is having none of it.

Vermenko swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

and Wojcik counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Vermenko! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!
