Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hunter Risley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Junior Sasi!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Risley closes the distance and clinches.
Sasi has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Risley after a bit of a struggle.

Sasi has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Risley clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Sasi avoiding Risley 's attempts to control his hands.
Sasi gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.

Risley covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Sasi is trying to stick to Risley's back but Risley is turning into Sasi. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sasi's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Risley.
Risley won't allow Sasi to get back to his feet.
Sasi is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Risley perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Sasi is looking to escape.
Risley is stalling here. Sasi is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Risley seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Sasi has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Risley is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Risley fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sasi gets caught napping as Risley dives in and scores a takedown. Sasi manages to retain guard.
Sasi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Risley slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Risley's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Risley looking to sit in guard and control but Sasi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sasi postures up.
Sasi is looking to work some ground and pound but Risley has wrist control.
Risley wants to sweep but no luck.
Risley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Risley tries to get out of the position.
Sasi with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Risley utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Risley looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Risley wants to sweep here but Sasi controlling him for the moment.

You get the feeling that Sasi really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Risley tries to control but Sasi wriggling away.
Risley lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Risley takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Risley misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Risley cracks Sasi with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sasi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Risley tries to clinch there but Sasi circles away.

Risley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sasi on his heels. He'll look to pass Sasi's guard now, I'm sure.

Risley is standing up over Sasi. Sasi looks to escape but Risley dives into side control.

Risley is looking to take a break and control but Sasi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sasi is letting Risley control him for a moment.
Risley tries to stand but Sasi is controlling his head.
Sasi pushes Risley away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Risley gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Risley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sasi is trying to escape the position but Risley is controlling the position.
Risley lands an elbow.
Risley wants to stand but Sasi has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.
Risley controls from within his opponent's guard.

Risley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Risley is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Risley trying to control the position from guard on top but Sasi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Risley is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Risley stops Sasi from standing up.

Risley controlling from the top position.
Sasi wants to stand and escape but Risley is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hunter Risley.
Sasi blocks a head kick by Risley.
Hunter Risley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Sasi counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Risley!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Risley managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sasi.

Sasi decides to take the fight back to the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sasi shoots for a double leg takedown but Risley sprawls well. He's pushed Sasi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hunter Risley showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Risley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
