PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Koon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Dela Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koon comes to the cage accompanied by Zion - Fluke. King Dela Cruz told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 17 - 0, fighting out of New York, King Dela Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koon wants to land a leg kick but Dela Cruz is out of range.

The ref stands the fighters back up. King Dela Cruz was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Dela Cruz counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Let's hope that Dela Cruz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Dela Cruz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close second round but King Dela Cruz will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Koon doesn't manage to clinch there - Dela Cruz circles away.

Koon is rocked!
Koon drops his hands momentarily. Dela Cruz doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Koon staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Koon doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). King Dela Cruz!
King Dela Cruz really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that [CBK] The Smashwear Corporation logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
