The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavez scores with a jab to the jaw.

and Brott decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Chavez's guard.

Chavez tries to get to full guard but Brott has control of the leg.
Brott seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brott connects with a nice short shot to Chavez's temple.

Brott looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Brott has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chavez is working away from the top position though.

Brott is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Chavez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Chavez's back!
Oooh a big shot gets through from Brott. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Chavez thuds his right hand into Brott's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Chavez jabs Brott right on the nose. Brott blinks but takes it well.

and Brott counters with a single leg into guard. Chavez didn't expect that.

Brott postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Chavez covers up, he's hurt! Brott keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Brott and the ref steps in to end the fight! Brott can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
