Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erwin Rommel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ted Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rommel comes to the cage accompanied by Prilicno Prazni- dalje idem sam. Slice has chosen Cant be touched! as his entrance music. Erwin Rommel has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erwin Rommel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ted Slice!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A clash of legs there as Slice blocks the low kick.

Rommel has Slice up against the cage in a clinch.

Rommel turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rommel manages to end up in side control.
Slice manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Slice trying to pass the guard but Rommel defending well.
Rommel is pressing down on Slice's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rommel has momentary wrist control but Slice slips an elbow through the middle.
Slice has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at MuscleWorks Amsterdam™ . Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Slice stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rommel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rommel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Slice can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Slice slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Slice postures up and lands a big shot to Rommel's brow.
Slice forces his way into half guard.
Rommel tries to kick Slice off but Slice keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slice thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Slice is controlling the pace.
Rommel taking some punishment here, with Slice in his half guard.
Rommel is staying active underneath Slice, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Rommel has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slice is working away from the top position though.
Slice is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Rommel is looking to control Slice's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rommel avoid being mounted?

Slice is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Slice looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rommel tries to clinch

and Slice counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rommel tries to get to full guard but Slice has control of the leg.
Slice stops Rommel from getting back to his feet.
Rommel is looking to improve his position.
Slice wants to take a breather but Rommel is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rommel blocking the ground and pound attempt from Slice.
Rommel preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Slice frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Slice content just to control the position here.
A nice elbow there by Slice.
Slice looking to control but Rommel is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Slice controlling from the full mount.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Slice looking to finish Rommel with some ground and pound. This is bad for Rommel!
Slice has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Slice is landing with some decent strikes but Rommel is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Rommel is rocked!
Slice tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Oh Rommel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Slice raining down hammerfists from mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Slice unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Rommel wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Slice celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ted Slice!
A very excited looking Ted Slice made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
