The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boykin darts in looking for a takedown but Aikawa gets double underhooks and turns Boykin into the ropes.
Aikawa pulls guard effortlessly.

Boykin wants to control from the top but Aikawa keeps moving.

Aikawa wants to take his opponent's back but Boykin doesn't allow it.

Boykin tries to lock up and control but Aikawa gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Aikawa swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Boykin is now in Aikawa's guard. A big mistake from Aikawa there, giving up the dominant position!
Boykin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Boykin has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Aikawa is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Boykin yanks on the arm and Aikawa is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Boykin.

In his post fight interview, Dimentiy Boykin started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
